Hockey Brawls

It is so interesting to watch a hockey game with a huge fight. This doesn’t happen a lot, but when it does, it is very enjoyable. Did you see the big fight in the Senators/Sabres game? How about any of these crazy fights?

The Superbowl

Go Colts!!! The colts are my favorite team and I’m glad they won, but should we put down others who rooted for the Bears before or after they lost. Why do people do that? They spend tons of money betting on their favorite team. What if they lose the bet? Do they keep betting? Usually they do! Is this what God wants us to do? No! He would rather have us just to watch and enjoy the game, to have fun and spend time with friends and family while we watch. So many people watch this. Do you know what Tony Dungy (the Colts’ Head Coachs)said when the media asked him about his accomplishments? He talked about his accomplishments with God and what God did for him, on the most watched network in America! Would you stick up and do that?

Working in an office?!

 Is this what I have to look foward to for when I get a job in an office?

I hope my mom doesn’t see this! If she does she may have found a new way to get me to clean my room.

Being a Little Brother

I’m the youngest of three brothers. Here’s the good and the bad about being a 3rd child.

The Good: The first thing I like about being the smallest is that I get to do a lot of things because of my brothers. My oldest brother drives me places and sometimes picks me up from school. Sometimes they get to help coach me during my hockey practices and teach me new hockey skills. They help me with homework, since they already learned most of the stuff I am being tought.

The Bad: There is also a bad side to being the youngest brother. I think the worst is that they pick on me a lot. Another thing is that they don’t listen to me a lot when I have something to say or an idea. My brothers usually beat me in a game and I am working on dealing with that (and practicing so I’ll beat them next time.)

My Favorite Things

Here are a few of my favorite things:

Foods: steak cooked on the grill, mint cookies and cream ice cream, butterfinger candy bars, strawberries 

Sports: ice hockey (coached by my mom), knee hockey (with my brother Matt), basketball, racquetball (with my brother Tim), waterskiing, kneeboarding

Things my Mom does: makes me breakfast, penny hockey at Tim Horton’s with me, read to me, play board games, gives me big hugs

Movies: Miracle, Where the Red Fern Grows, The Guardian

TV Shows: Prison Break, American Idol, hockey games, Wheel of Fortune

Music: Audio Adrenaline, Mercy Me, Casting Crowns, Kutless

Animals: platypus, kittens, dogs, rabbit

Books: “Everest: the Contest”, Gary Paulson books, Chronicles of Narnia

                          

Birthday Hero

       I played baseball for my first time on a team a couple of years ago. My team was pretty good. We won some games, we lost some games. My brother’s team was a different story. They had never won a game before in that season. I wish I could have played either with his team or against his team, but I was too young so I played in a different league. 

       His team had a game on the day of my birthday in the summer and they were going to have to forfeit the game because they were one person too short. Then I told his coach I wanted play for this one game just so they wouldn’t be forced to forfeit. At first he thought I was joking, but then he gave me a great birthday present. He let me play!!! I asked my mom to go home and get my equipment and she did, so I was ready to play. We were playing against one of my best friend’s team. I ended up scoring two runs and striking out only once. We ended up winning by one run. At the end of the game my brother’s coach rewarded me with the game ball (the second one because the first one I hit 500ft for a homerun…just kidding). I couldn’t believe it! I helped their team win their first and only game that season. They did not win any more of their games after that. They only won the game that I played and scored two runs! That was one of my best birthdays ever!

Why I like hockey.

       There are tons of reasons that I started to play hockey at age four. At that time my main reason was because both of my brothers played and I had skated before so I wanted to try it out. Here I am 8 years later at age 11 still playing and loving hockey. I am on a Pee-Wee Tier III team and even though our record isn’t the best we are still having fun while we play. I enjoy talking in the locker rooms and doing drills on the ice. I also enjoy the tournaments we go to. We have been in 2 tournaments so far this year, a home one and one in Jamestown. Our home tournament we just missed the championship by about 2 points. We also just missed making to the championship in our tournament in Jamestown. We have a tournament a few weeks from now in Pittsburgh. I can’t wait until we go. Our team plays knee hockey (hockey with mini sticks and mini nets)  until almost midnight. We go out to eat almost every meal, play PS2 in my teamates’ rooms, and watch tapes of our previous games so we can improve.

Here are a few things about me

1.I am Rindy’s youngest, best looking, most fun, smartest son.

2.I have been playing hockey for 8 years! I have scored a hat trick in every one of those years and I’m a defenseman!

3.I am an honor roll student. I missed only one question on a three day New York State Math Exam when I was in fourth grade. I am also spelling bee champ from second grade over my whole school district.

4.I love to draw and express myself through pictures.

5.I have wanted to be a neurosurgeon since I was seven years old.
